Why we're closing

We have had an amazing run with Felt That. I typically say "we", but I mean me. Monica. I ran this business on my own. I had occasional help from friends & family, but I made the products, made my own packaging, managed the website, shipped out your orders, attended markets, designed the display stands, did all photography, ran socials, and so much more.

Last year, I made the decision to expand into wholesale. This was something I had been wanting to do for so long & I had lots of requests for it. I jumped in, invested a lot of money & time, and we headed to Dallas Market.

Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned. I think there was so much that played into that, but it hurts so much more when you are making your items by hand. These are pieces I assembled myself, I poured my heart into each piece. I had thousands of items after this event. It was a lot of trial & error trying to get Felt That into customers hands. Some things worked, but barely made a dent on inventory. I felt my heart break & I couldn't even stand to see my products anymore.

I tried everything to keep this business going. I made products that had been requested, but only 1-2 pieces would sell. Being completely transparent, I got tired of making things I didn't want to make. I was making them in the hopes of getting a sale, not making them because I loved them & was excited to.

So, I walked away from it saying it would be a break until I felt the love for it again. That love didn't come back. Instead, I pursued other passions I've always had. That wasn't my plan, but I'm a true believer that everything connects & happens for a reason.

Each step taught me so much, you all did too. I am who I am today because I had this adventure with you all. I met so many amazing people, many of which have become friends. It makes it 100% worth it.

I'm going to be sad about this for a while, but I know this is the right decision. I hope you all have your Felt That items for a very long time & I hope to see them out in the world! Thank you for all of your support. Felt That did so many incredible things that make me so proud & I will always cherish what was built here.

Much love to my friends,

Monica.
